Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the distinction between art therapy and art
as therapy: Key aspects of theory underpinning art as
therapy: Basic concepts relating to the triad of art, client,
therapist: Ethical issues around boundaries, confidentiality,
safe containment and assessment / referral: Explore art
medium and understand there appropriate use: Personal
experience of the symbolic art making process and its role in
maintaining and/restoring well-being: The relevance and
needfulness of personal development, self care and
supervision. Critically reflecting on and evaluating
non-verbal and verbal therapeutic approaches: Developing
competence in the application and evaluation of relevant
facilitation skills:
Each day will follow a theme with the input of
Discussions, Experiential art making, skills practice,
illustrated case studies
Participants are asked to keep a personal log of
learning etc and produce one essay of 4000 words.
The 10 days can be made up to the groups request,
however a suggested programme for the 10 days would be
2 weekends Sat/Sun (4days)
6 Saturdays (one per month)
Venue: Art Therapy Works Carrickfergus
Fee: £375 per day for a group of six participants
(£62.50 per person per day. The full training costs
£625 per person) The fee includes hand-outs, art
materials and lunch. |
